Question about Ai Traffic in XPX

Featured Replies

Is there currently a way in XPX to exclude certain aircraft from being used as AI. If I wanted to fly airliners only (for example) and dont want GA traffic showing up, can I exclude them from being used. I wouldn't want to delete them, just not have them used as ai. Maybe a way to comment them out temporarily? If this is not currently possible, Is it in the works to be address in a future update? Rob

Yes you can do that now under aircraft & situations. You can define the number of AI craft that fly, and assign which particular aircraft are flying as AI.What you can't do is stop AI craft loading up at airports too small for purpose. So it's quite likely that you'll find B747's trying their luck out of small runway strips.

Ok cool. Thanks for the reply.Hopfully they will fix Large aircraft from using small airfields in a coming update.Rob

I think there's a huge quantity of work to be done on the AI. Principally on two counts:1. Aircraft Behaviour2. Flight PlansI think we'll see a lot of continuous improvement on the first count. Lots of bugs right now (I've submitted one regarding taxi behaviour), but I think the principle of using flight dynamics to control the AI is a good foundation to work on.But on the 2nd count I'm not so keen - they seem to be going down the algorithm route for working out flight plans, rather than fixed (editable) flight plans, which I think a lot of folk would prefer for depicting commercial airline schedules.
