March 3, 200422 yr True but I wasn't even looking at it that way...LOL...The first was 'k' sux so I was reading the next as 'k' rap, not crap hehehe. I guess that one is a little bad. But when refering to it to ATC you don't have to be sophmoric either. I doubt anybody calls for clearance to land at "Crap".
March 3, 200422 yr can look at it the other way... "excusez-moi, mademoiselle, gotta go take a kilo-romeo-alpha-papa" (never know, she might like the "romeo" part):-lol
March 3, 200422 yr On a related note, I don't know where the term "crap" came from but do you know the origins of the other word? IE S. H. I. T. (Hint: The periods are there for a reason other than possible censors)
March 3, 200422 yr "I don't know where the term "crap" came from"It comes from the name of the man who invented the flush toilet, a Mr. Crapper. (No I ain't sh####n' you). And where do you think we would be without him? Up to our necks in it!David
March 3, 200422 yr HEHEHEE Ok...Well the other term comes from when they used to transport manure on ships. They used to put it down in the holds and although safe when dry, it eventually would get wet and start fermenting. You can imagine the dangers of ferminting manure giving off methane gas down in an enclosed hold. Can you say KABOOM! LOL. So they started to make sure manure was shipped up high so it would not get wet. On the pallets or containers would be written Ship High In Transit, or S.H.I.T. heheheheAt least that is what I heard :)
March 3, 200422 yr "Perhaps there should be some sort of review but there are a lot of idents to review but there are fewer dollars in the agencies' budgets now for such stuff"I'm sure the gov't could dig up a few hundred million dollars for an "ICAO Sensorship Bureau"; it's just the kind of thing they love to fund. David
March 3, 200422 yr Another one to take a look at is Willmar Municipal Airport-John L Rice Field in Willmar, Minnesota.
