March 3, 200422 yr Hi!Does anyone know if there is any free Swedish mesh around? Have downloaded lots of mesh lately for other parts of the world and found that it increases the FS environment ALOT but still haven't found any for Sweden and/or Scandinavia.TIA,
March 3, 200422 yr there's this thing called "lightweight mesh". part four includes all of scandinavia.http://www.fscorner.com/database2002-2/26-07-2002.htm
March 4, 200422 yr Search the library for scand-mesh.zipIt's for FS2002 but works great in FS2004 from what I can tell. -
March 4, 200422 yr Another very reasonable alternative is the FS Genesis European 76m mesh. I think all of Europe, including Scandanavian countries, is $10US last time I checked.
March 4, 200422 yr clever?i was just being lazy(i AM lazy, matter of fact ;))of coursei could have downloaded the meshunpacked it, copied it to my addon scenery folderfired off fs, registered the sceneryclosed fs, fired off fs againset up a flight, spent half an hourlooking at those enchanting snowy wastelandsori could have said what i saidon a second thoughtyou're rightgreatest inventions came aboutcoz somebody was too lazy to move their bumso there is a chance i might just be clever:-lolcheers!vilk
March 4, 200422 yr if i understand these matters correctly, which doesn't have to be the case, all the new SRTM-based meshes will end at N60. no SRTM data north of 60. so an older mesh derived from a different data set might be your only choice, if you're interested in iron ore mining. even if the older meshes tend to have lower LOD's.or just combine the two: higher detail for the south, somewhat milder slopes for the north.having said that, i can only second the fsgenesis tip above. excellent stuff.vilk
March 4, 200422 yr Hi Tord,Thanks, just looked at their site and found two products that seemed interesting and to a resonable price which I might buy if I can't find a good f/w alternative. All the best,
