Shopping for a netbook

Featured Replies

Hey guys,In a few months I'm going away from home for three months and of course I can't take my big 'ol iMac with me, nor do I want to bring mij macbook pro. Even though it's 3 years old now, it still cost me a fortune; I'd rather lose a 400 Euro netbook than my zillion Euro Macbook Pro. So, I'm looking for a netbook.I've been reading reviews, but honestly I can't really get a good picture of what a good one is. So far the Asus 12.1" Eee 1215B seems like a nice choice, but I'm sure there would are other good ones. Anybody who can help me? The eventual goal is to try and get FS2004 running on it. I'm not going for scenery add ons besides perhaps basic stuff, like GEX, REX... and I will want to use the LDS767. Wanna take that plane with me everywhere I can ;)Anybody who can give me any tips/hints/whatever? Would be much appreciated :)

You might run into trouble trying to load FS9 onto that drive. You don't have a disc drive.

Good point, although I think I know ways around that. And if all else fails, I'll buy a standalone disc reader with a USB connection or something of the kind.

Okay, so top be more specific, what about this: http://www.paradigit.nl/Paradigit/product/ZPR_01LAP/01_NETBOOK/productdetails/80003552/Asus_12_1_Eee_1215B_SIV128M_E450_4GB_500GB/90OA3CBEC314JA1E33QQ/default.aspxAll I want is FS2004 and the LDS767, for the occasional flight. Nothing too heavy. This laptop seems like it could do the job. Any opinions?
