February 15, 201214 yr Hello! I recently uninstalled Scenery Tech north america landclass and now I have no landclass. How can I restore fsx's default landclass? Thanks
February 15, 201214 yr Search the FSX folder and see if there's a Scenery-Tech folder. If your lucky perhaps the installer moved the FSX default landclass there.Next thing I would try is an FSX/Accel Repair session off the DVD, but I would be concerned about getting my add-ons knocked-out, so perhaps someone with more experience can advise the merits of this idea. Finally, what I would definitely recommend is if you ever do a clean FSX + Acceleration install, before you add any add-ons at all. copy the directory and save a backupt in your Bank vault. Then add all you add-ons and again save everthing.Cheers,- jahman.
February 15, 201214 yr Author thanks Jahman. A little more investigating and it seems it may be related to utx usa. After I uninstalled scenery tech, I fired up the sim in mexico city and it was just a big desert. Same for all mexico cities. I figured that when I uninstalled st the fsx default landclass would take over for mexico. I then took off out of el paso and noticed that juarez was also missing. No problem with anything in the us. So while in flight I disabled all the ut landclass entries in the scenery library and then the default landclass was back to normal for mexico. I would like to use utx landclasses for the usa but at the same time use default for mexico, canada and alaska.
February 15, 201214 yr The default landclass (and waterclass) are simply the files in scenerybasescenery worldlc.bgl and worldwc.bgl. But maybe you mean terrain in general?scott s..
February 15, 201214 yr Author HI Scott. Its very weird. If I enable ut landclasses I then lose default for alaska, canada, and mexico. Those are the areas that were previously taken care of with scenery tech north america. If I disable all ut landclasses then it works as I think it should. It is my understanding that utx usa is only for the 48 states.
