February 29, 201214 yr Author To avoid spending the rest of your life trying to find the ofending scenery,Disable the first half of your sceneries. LOOP: Do you still get the CTD? - If Yes: The bad scenery is still active, so disable one half of the remaining active sceneries and repeat (GoTo LOOP) - If No: The bad scenery is now disabled, so enable all the sceneries you just disabled in this pass and disable all the sceneries you justt enabled. Eventually you will only have one scenery left, and that will be the bad scenery. The number of times you will have to test (i.e. LOOP) is Log 2 (Number of Sceneries), so if you have 512 scenery entreis you will have to repeat the test 9 times (if 9 seems like a lot, its a lot less than 512!)This strategy is called a binary search.Cheers,- jahman. Whe you said go to loop what are you really mean?last night I disabled about 10 I went to FLL and it was after 6 minutes started to CTD,.
February 29, 201214 yr Does this happen at every airport or just the one where it crashed?::::no :Only at KFLL and SKBODo you have FS Dreamteam Fort Lauderdale (KFLL) and BluePrint Sim Bogota (SKBO) installed? If so, just disable one or both of them in your Scenery Library and you'll see which one is causing the problem. Maybe both. If you have both installed, you might need to make sure you have the latest updates to these products installed. The Addon Manager could be the culprit. When you installed these airports (if you did), make sure you have UAC disabled and any anti-virus program. If not, uninstall both products completely and reinstall making sure you have the latest updates. You can disable UAC by clicking on the Start button, typing UAC in the search box, then looking up in the menu and clicking on 'Change User Account Settings and Controls'. Hope this helps.Best regards,Jim Edited February 29, 201214 yr by firehawk44

March 1, 201214 yr Im I do not have any of those installed on my computer only pure FSX, UT, power pack, MAIW and WOA thats itWhat about Acceleration or SP2? If that's all you have, you don't have many to disable in the Scenery Library. Ultimate Terrain can be disabled by running the configurator. Best regards,Jim

March 1, 201214 yr Now where I can get the configurator????Not sure if there's a configurator with Ultimate Traffic. In any case it would be easy to disable it in the Scenery Library to see if that's causing your crashes. If you don't have Acceleration installed, do you have SP1 and SP2 installed? Many programs require Acceleration or at least SP2 installed. This could be your problem.Best regards,Jim
March 1, 201214 yr Y'know, guys - a great tool for fixing pc errors is our new Avsim TeamSpeak 3,http://forum.avsim.net/topic/362221-signing-on-to-the-avsim-teamspeak-system/page__fromsearch__1whereby you can actually talk to the client, working through to a solution much quicker than sitting here waiting for an answer, etc... All one needs is a headset with a mic. This is made even better if one downloads TeamViewer - http://www.teamviewer.com/en/download/index.aspx - allowing you to actually sit in front of the client's pc.. Try it - you might like it! i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
March 1, 201214 yr allowing you to actually sit in front of the client's pc.. Try it - you might like it!I really doubt your 'solution' would work. For one thing, most people who have CTD's have little knowledge of OS's and computers. Plus we need to see the error reports from the Event Viewers or BSOD's. I personally do not have the time to sit in front of a microphone talking to someone for possibly hours to help him/her fix a problem. Most people do not have mic's (I do but haven't hooked it up and probably never will). Language issues and time zones could be a problem too. Of course, if there are people like you who are tech proficient and like TeamSpeak3 (and the person you're trying to help does too), then I say go for it! Anything to help out the flight simmers having issues is a major plus.Best regards,Jim
