Is the PMDG 1900D an "Express" plane?

Featured Replies

I go for the reality when I simulate and am interested in planes that have every switch and dial modeled as accurately as possible and the flight model as close as possible to making me feel like "I'm there". The PMDG 1900 plane interests me but if I recall, wasn't this one of the "express" planes that has some "corners cut" to get the average Jow flying with less trouble?OR...Is it available in another "high fidelity" version?

Found some info. Too bad they don't have a more detailed version of this plane. Sounds like the 737 is a winner though. Is this on par with the PIC 767 that everyone always gets blur-eyed about when talking "realism"?I like having to thumb through a manual to "start the engines"as long as the manual is good...http://flyawaysimulation.com/article693-PM...raft-1900D.html

Hi Caveman,Have you checked out the PMDG forum over here? There's a plentiful of people willing to give you information on whatever you need to know about both the B1900D or the B737NG.See you there! ;-)

With the usual "i've never actually flown" a beech 1900D, I love the flight model. Performance matches specs very well. I still grapple with not overstressing the engines at high speed cruise, however - kinda bugs me. As far as the panel goes, it uses King Air gauges in the majority, though the layout is accurate to some 1900's I've seen and even shots at airliners.net - very believable. I can't really comment (again, same caveat) regarding systems functionality, but it does seem dumbed down a bit regarding pressurization, but engine management is critical, and navigation, lighting, things like that all seem to be there. It's pretty impressive for an "express."Best,sg
