Aerocache problem - kilometers back to nautical miles

Featured Replies

Wonder if anyone can help me with something. In the beta whilst doing an aerocache it would tell me the distance to it in Nautical Miles but now it is displaying the distance in Kilometers instead. I can not seem to find an option to change it back to Nautical Miles, anyone else having the same problem?CheersCraig

Yes, I'm had the same problem but solved it...Related to this an maybe even more anoying is that also the plane information in the hangar is suddenly in kilometers and meters instead of in feet and nm ..I tried to change the UNITS_OF_MEASURE item in C:Users<username>AppDataRoamingMicrosoftFlightFlight.CFG to 0 and 2 but that didn't help..Since it is a microsoft game I thought it might use the international settings of windows and setting them to US helped.. To do this open your control panel and open the item Clock, Language, and Region and under Region and Language click Change location. A window pops up which contains the tab Formats, open this one and under Format select for example "English (United States)"... This will do the trick... Disadvantage of this is that everything in microsoft programs using the location setting will change. For example how currencies, dates and time are shown in Excel and Word. To avoid this keep your Format to the default one and click the button "Additional settings". This will open a new dialog, in this dialog open the Tab called Numbers. Somewhere you should see "Measurement system"... Change this from Metric to U.S. and your problem is solved...For your info, this is how it is done in Windows 7 but it should be similar for Vista and XP... And yes, this is an annoying fix and Microsoft Flight should have made this at least configurable in the game itself....Cheers,DrMarble

My beef was that it was ok in the beta and not sure suddenly why in the release version that changed.Anyway I had a look at your helpful instructions. I have my region set to United Kingdom and changed it from metric to US and voila, back to how I want it, so may thanks for that.Like you said though, why it can not be an option in the menu somewhere anyway but there you go, maybe it will come later.CheersCraig

I agree with you guys, and has been pointed out.Your suggestion works, but for the most of us outside of the US changing computer measurement system to US is a nuisance, as the rest of our applications and life is in our country settings, for example Office and every app that uses culture settings will also change.I hope it gets fixed or option added, like in other Flight Simulators.
