February 29, 201214 yr To me this is a very credible effort by MS. It runs very well indeed, and while it may appear to be sparse you have to remember it is in its infancy. I also simulate TS2012 via the STEAM (Valve) portal and that is excellent so I hope that the MS Flight will follow a similar pattern. With STEAM you cannot corrupt the core engine (well you can but only temporarily) and if you do it is easily rectified and I guess that MS is restricting (at this time) any addon that may affect Flight's core engine as they have done in FSX. All content on STEAM ie the DLC has to work with the core engine and if it doesn't its corrected. I can't wait for that in MS Flight, what would FSX have been like with a similar set up?.The advantages for me:No complex install program instructions where you have to have a degree in computing science to follow them.No tweaks necessary so 'swimming pools = Olympic" is out.LOD is well LOD.No Seaeffgee to endlessly fiddle withAddons will work with MSFlight.Reasonable hardware gives good results. (CRAY not needed)No stutters,No Blurrinesss.Smooth performance (good fps and the number of frames displayed for more than 50 ms is low).and so on.Very good base scenery with better to comeNow go back and read what we said about FSX RTM. :Waiting:I fly for the technique of flying, so whilst scenery and other AI planes are nice I just enjoy the technical aspects of flight in this new simulator.I bet in 6 months we will have see quite a different experience. The king is dead, long live the King!pH
February 29, 201214 yr Interesting: "....It doesn't take a lot of flying expertise/knowledge to truly experience flying."what is experience flying? without knowing what are you doing? But you've rasied good points just this was a little strange for me.thanksMeaning for me, doesn't require a lot thought other than full throttle and pull back and off you go.
February 29, 201214 yr this is a great product and it's just like moving from a Bi-cycle to a Tri-cycle, makes you feel that you master flying and you don't even have to use your legs to keep it up, it just stand still till you start pedaling again, so great to a point that my son is hooked to the computer playing it, did I mention that it's a great product? OK, now when are they going to release FS XI? Ali A.
