Need new video card

Featured Replies

My 9800 GTX+ died yesterday. Perhaps it's a little early after the funeral, but I really yearn for a replacement in order to continue running FSX.I would appreciate any advice on what would be the least expensive way to go without limiting performance on my computer (listed below).

IF you can, wait for the new Nvidia Kepler GPU's. If you aren't willing to wait, go out and pick up a single GTX560 or GTX560ti. Those will be very fast in FSX.

Thanks Ben. My thought was, although a slightly lesser video card might handle everything my processor can throw at it, the GTX560ti is at a pretty good price point. I notice that you are using a GTS450 with your i7 2700K. Is that video card choking off a pretty good amount of otherwise potential FSX performance?------------------What about a GTX550ti vs a GTX560? From what I can make out, the 550ti outperforms the 560 and is $50(25%) cheaper.

The GTS450 really is the bare minimum for any game in general. I would stay away from it. The GTX560ti about twice as powerful as my card.
