Good Performance?

Featured Replies

Hi,I am planning to buy a brand new computer and I'm currently wondering if I will get good FPS on a particular system I have sumbled over quite often during my search. The system specs are as follows:

  • AMD FX-Series FX-4100 4 x 3600 MHz
  • 8192 MB DDR3 PC-1333
  • NVIDIA Geforce GTX 550 Ti 2048 MB, DirectX 11
  • 750 GB SATA II

Is that CPU comparable to an i7 quad core? So, will I get good FPS on exactly that system when I use REX, any airport addon and the PMDG 737NGX or the Captain Sim 757?

Not even close. The i5/i7 is the way to go. Especially given the prices aren't that extravagant.

That system won't be a slouch, but in your given scenario the Intels are superior. By a lot.I wouldn't go as far as recommending to avoid the AMD system, but it's not a good system to buy specifically for FSX. Try the hardware forums a few forums down. You'll find your answer, and then some.
