March 4, 201214 yr I've only recently become aware of this little problem, so unsure whether it is some FSX bug or in fact is something that is normal. The problem seems to be when taking off or landing on a tarmac strip or runway, I get the dust spray behind, but I also get clumps of gravel and small rocks being turfed up. This of course looks a little odd when on a tarmac or asphalt runway so if any of you guys can suggest a way round this I'd be grateful, cheers. March 4, 201214 yr Howard - I had this years ago when using FlyTampa's KSEA: I do believe it happened because the scenery 'order' was wrong in the scenerey cfg file. I had UT_USA, GEX, and so on. I hope this direction fixes it for you.... :( i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

March 4, 201214 yr Basically, if say, you install an airport like Don Grovestine's CYYJ into the PNW area you need to ensure that the scenery library entries are above the entries for Victoria+, Vancouver+, Ultimate Terrain and/or any OrbX sceneries (and any other scenery that contains roads, terrain or shorelines) otherwise you may get what you've got there. Something like the ground flashing when using DX10. I tried to log into FlyTampa to get the exact detail for you on that old fix, but time and memory - as i said it's been YEARS since I had this problem. There was a "sandwich patch" issued to stop problems which arose from having two or more texture files in the wrong order in the cfg. Holger is the man to talk to, actually.... :)Here's a quote from the (old) FT install manual:-"For Ultimate Terrain USA users, it is highly recommended that the Seattle Aerial Photo entry in the scenery database is moved up above the Ultimate Terrain entry. To do this, open the scenery Library & click on the entry for Seattle Aerial Photo. Now press the Move up button repeatedly until the Seattle Aerial Photo entry is above the entry for Ultimate Terrain USA.This will prevent Ultimate Terrain from removing the Microsoft aerial photo that Fly Seattle is designed to blend into." Mmm, OK well, Ron Attwood has PM'd me and emailed a couple of replacement files. I seem to remember someone else around the forums having the same issue. So I will check things out and let you know how I get on, cheers.
