March 4, 201214 yr Has anyone ever tried to tweak add-on AI aircraft to act like default aircraft? Specifically, I mean like the way the cargo doors work on default AI aircraft right before departure of the plane. If you ever watch the default AI aircraft, right before they depart, the cargo doors open, luggage trucks pull up then leave, cargo doors close and the AI aircraft pushes back. I notice many AI aircraft lights come on prior to the aircraft departing, but have never seen any other functions such as doors opening and closing. Does anyone know where this behavior is modeled? I've tried looking through the SDK, but cannot find anyplace where it instructs on how to control functions of an AI aircraft prior to push back from a gate.
March 5, 201214 yr Typical is that AI aircraft were/are built for FS9 and the door opeining is FSX behavior. You need to change the "exits" section of the AI aircraft.cfg file, at least to get the baggage loader over there. If you go over to Alpha India Group forums, there is a thread with an extensive collection of proper settings for various AI models.scott s..
March 5, 201214 yr I don't know how to get the cargo vehicles to connect with AI aircraft, but if you simply copy an [exits] section from a default aircraft's cfg file and paste it into the AI aircraft's config file you should see the jetway connecting to the AI plane when its parked. If the dimensions of the AI plane don't match the default plane that you copied the [exits] section from, the jetway might not line up with the door. In that case you would have to tweak the numbers in the exit section of the AI plane (x,y,z coordinates for the main door).By the way you can do this to any add-on aircraft too. With add-on aircraft the cargo vehicles should also come when you press shift+e+2 just like the default planes because cargo doors are indicated in the [exits] section. The actual cargo doors don't open though.I've always wanted to make the lights on my WOAI planes stay on when parked too, but I don't have any idea how and I've already spent a lot of time looking for a way to do it. The lights on my Traffic X planes stay on when parked so there must be a way. Edited March 5, 201214 yr by flightluuvr
