Great Job MS!

Greetings everyone!I have been following the threads for some time and I finally decided to start pitching in. I've done a lot of simming on both the stick and rudder and push button sides of the spectrum. I've done the whole VA deal along with hours of simulated corporate and helicopter operations. All in all, I've spent more than my fair share of time behind monitors slowly, but surely, degrading my eyesight  . Not once, however, did I consider what I was engaged in a game and this outlook played out in my favor.I used my many hours of simulated 'training' to my benefit when I got my PPL ticket a few years back. And, truth be told, the exposure to the symphony of sensations of real flight really started pulling me away from our lovely hobby. The simulations, regardless of the intricacy of the hardware set-up or the graphics, no longer evoked the same emotions and feeling. The real deal simply redefined my expectations as a soul with wings. And, as a result, I spent less and less time behind the virtual controls. With that introduction in mind, and finally addressing the title, I'd like to take the bold step of applauding the incredible job MS has done with Flight :Applause: . Yes, as the countless number of critics have pointed out an innumerable number of times, there are a few shortcomings. However, MS Flight, as a whole, is simply stunning in far too many ways. More importantly, it is, in my opinion, the first piece of software that not only simulates, but also evokes that aforementioned symphony; and MS has just performed the first movement of, hopefully, a very lengthy concert.I'm very excited to experience the next movement and to those of you blindly criticizing, you must be tone deaf ^_^ .Cheers!

Just think. This product is not a "dump and run" like past MSFS sims. MS will contenue to improve and add to Flight as long as it has a strong customer base. I hope we see many years of great DLC and an ever evolving simulation we can all enjoy.Good post, and welcom back into the fold!

I have never flown GA aircraft and enjoyed it as much as I have in MS Flight ( I also eventually really want jets, helicopters, operating jetways, etc...) I tried almost every mission and still fly them in other sims but never could make past some of them and still can't, but that's my lack of talent I am sure. Was not even liking the Icon A5 until I flew the rescue mission to get the kaiyak (sp?) person, and was hoping I would get the livery I wanted after doing so, the Icon A5 Coast Guard Rescue livery, and I did! I know it sounds stupid but I was actually excited over the Coast Guard livery that would now make me want to fly the Icon A5 aircraft : ( I guess I'm easy to please!Come on Alaska!!!!!!!Think I can fly the Icon A5 Coast Guard Rescue in the Alaska scenery. I think so.....1.2 million square miles to rescue people : )

Honestly, the A5 is the LAST aircraft I would want to fly in Alaska. Sure, it looks good, but its a paper aircraft! Alaska is going to require a stronger, bigger aircraft or you will die. No getting around it.

The A5 is one sexy beast in my opinion...albeit somewhat underpowered. But flying one in Alaska would be analogous with riding an electric scooter around a race track. :lol:I like to dream big...considering it's Alaska, I'd love to see a Coast Guard HH-60J. That would make for some fun rescue missions!

I at least hope to get a Coast Guard Helicopter similiar to the ones in FSX, I think they are AugustaWestland EH101! Yeah after I posted I kind of figured that was not a good idea. And some rescue planes, and boats, and ......Right now I landed the Coast Guard Icon A5 right next to the Pearl Harbor Memorial, what a site. And I think I see an outline of the Arizona ship that sunk as well as oil spills from the oil that is continuing to rise from the Arizona.BTW, if you turn off the Icon A5 engine in the water and go get a cup of coffee ( depending on weather conditions) it may not be where you left it....I am just saying waves! And the waves look amazing and I can't use the maximum settings!I originally posted to say I was new to the forums also because of MS Flight!
