AI Sukhoi Superjet No. 2 - a not representative test

Featured Replies

Good evening, yesterday a new AI model of the Sukhoi Superjet 100-95 by Ahmed Bouhashi (ABAI) was released. I used GWAI's model so far and wanted to make a little test. Placed 50 Superjets at UUEE with clean weather, using UUEE Scenery by mozila et. al. (from avsim.su) and CIS landclass / Moscow buildings by unnt.ru MegaProject. With my system - 4GB RAM; 2,9 GHz AMD Athlon Dual Core; WinXP SP3 - I got an average of 14 fps with GWAI and 15 fps with ABAI. (without any AI aircraft: 45 fps)So far an advantage for ABAI, but the visuals are not as complex as GWAI's.GWAI:ABAI:My first conclusion is to stay with GWAI's, taking into consideration the few Superjets which are in service (6 with Aeroflot, 1 with Armavia) - ant to wait for the third model, which seems to be created by United Traffic Team...

Latest news: There's an Aeroflot SkyTeam livery available for ABAI's model today in the library. GWAI hasn't one so far. Should I revise my above conclusion...?

With the small - ish number of this aircraft that would appear at any given airport ( based on realistic flight plans ) I suppose I would go with the best looking / most detailed model. Considering that in your test the difference only amounted to one FPS overall. I'm sure the reqiured paint schemes will become available. One advantage I give to the ABAI version is that Ahmed supplied a paintkit with his model upload. My two cents, . . . with a one cent discount. UTT version = wait and see.Regards,Mel

I did some research, mostly on airliners.net. My impression is that the real SSJ-100 is in many visual aspect somewhere between these both models.- Wheels: while ABAI wheels seem to be too big, GWAI wheels seem to be too small- "Bort" (registration) number: seem to be too big at GWAI- Skyteam logo between door and cockpit windows has the right size at ABAI, but is better positioned (although too small) at GWAI. Only GWAI has the second logo behind the door.- I like the passenger windows' shape at ABAI and the colour at its Aeroflot repaint match the real colors better in my opinion.- The overall shape seems to be better modelled at GWAI (especially windshields and nose, and the engines), but it's more a feeling than proveable. Many of these are little details which I recognize hardly approaching at UUEE and looking out for stored Yak-40, Tu-134 and Il-62 at Sheremetyevo-1 (while SSJ-100 are mostly found on the opposite site of this huge airport), but I do recognize the colour appearance I think, so I decided to use ABAI now but not to delete GWAI definitely. Maybe - dependent on coming repaints - I will change again.I haven't had full access on UTT's site now, especially on the models' section. So yes, wait and see is the only thing we can do. The name of Sergey Bunevich is well known for brilliant AI models of Soviet Airplanes; however, his youngest creations - Tu-134 and coming Mi-8 - seem to be payware. Maybe UTT goes this way, too. Wait and see... Perhaps somebody from UTT reads this post and introduces himself (themselves) and their goals?Best regards from Dresden(little airport with scheduled flights by three (!) russian airlines - Putin lived here a couple of years and worked for KGB in GDR times :( )Harald
