March 9, 201214 yr I know I risk being labelled a JF ######, with 2 positive posts in one day about them, but I just had to say that the DC-6B is an absolute blast! It is not a 'perfect' aircraft but IMO all the important aspects are done right, and it just flies exactly how I'd expect DC-6 to fly.I flew the aircraft from Invercargill to Christchurch (41mins) in New Zealand, at 17,000 flying IFR. The aircraft is just such fun to hand fly and manage in the air. Having a basic AP a lot of the vertical movement is done manually, but unlike most releases that try to emulate this, the DC-6 can be trimmed beautifully for climb, descent and even cruise. None of that eratic, over-accelerated swinging of the VSI...! The sound is good fun, although yes, as another member said, you can hear a little of the engine idle sound when the plane is under power. But the quality of the sounds is excellent. Now onto the VC, I don't know if JF have updated it in some way but when I saw it, I couldn't believe some of the negative comments about it; apart from being not quite dirty and aged enough, it's a really good VC IMHO. It's a lot better than the DC-3 and considerably better than a certain 737-200 just released by JF.There is absolutely nothing like this DC-6 in my hangar. I already know this is going to be a real favourite of mine. Highly recommended. :( David. >> i7 2600k, 3.4Ghz, (3.8Ghz TurboBoost), 8GB DDR3 RAM, ATI HD 5770 1GB, Win 7 Home Premium 64bit. >> FSX, REX, GEX, UTX, Orbx FTX AU, NZ, US, FlyTampa, UK2000 Xtreme, PMDG, RealAir, MilViz, (some) Carenado, Flight 1, Simcheck "%20alt=

March 9, 201214 yr Author Thanks for the comments Stick, we do try hard to produce products that will appeal to our customer-base and welcome any feedback, good or bad.Your welcome. The more I fly the DC-6B the more I love it .......... and I haven't even taken it to Alaska yet!The only single possible issue I can find (and it may be user error) is that when I pull the lever that the manual states is to adjust the Propeller pitch for all 4 engines, it is only changing the prop pitch for engine 1. I have thus been having to change each individual engine's prop pitch manually with the mouse. That aside, it's an amazing aircraft and a sure winner!
