Green Grand Canyon?

Featured Replies

Hello,I've just flown round the Grand Canyon and I seem to have patches of green around. Am I very forgetful and has it always been like that or do I have a landclass error?

That is strange there. What scenery did you install that causes this? I know I installed Rob Gainers Arizona mesh but as I know I don't think I have that problem. Please tell us about recent downloads and install of new scenery because this is an error of some kind that shouldn't be there. Maybe we can help.Thank You,

Yuck that's ugly! If you go to FSGenesis you can download 38m terrain mesh of the Grand Canyon for free. Once you have something that actually resembles the shape of the canyon it will be easy to tell if the "green" belongs there or not.David

The FSGensis 38m Mesh is now available for free now at FS.com for a portion of the U.S, the Rockies and the West Coast. I don't think the rest of the U.S is available on there, but I could be wrong. I bought this Mesh for the entire Continental U.S. many months ago which I have thoroughly enjoyed. So if you want the some of the best mesh available you can now get it for free. The West Coast on fs.com is available as one 430 MB file!(fsgwst38.zip) Not sure if the Rockies is available on there as one file. But it's available as a multi file set anyway. Just an FYI.Cheers,Jim

HI Victor,If that's the US National Landclass, put it in the BugTracker. It's a miscoded index. Probably only shows up in spring and summer. I'm working on 1.06 right now, so maybe I can get to it right away.-------Justinhttp://www.fsgenesis.netHigh Quality Scenery for FS200x

Thanks for the answers. Well I checked and the last texture file I downloaded was Marcel Aerni's 2004_wood_desert.zip from Flightsim. I'll uninstall and see if this makes any difference.Victor

Well in that case, it's either FSGenesis or MyWorld. I'll look into it further when I get back home.Victor

I guess it's either MyWorld landclass (which I guess is unlikely) or it's the texture file I installed. Victor

Correction to one of my previous posts.I didn't get Marcel Aerni's texture from Flightsim, I got it from... FSPlanet. Now I know the views of many of you regarding this site but as the Avsim library's out of action and as Flightsim don't seem to have it.. Am I forgiven?!!:D Victor

VictorI've been using Marcel's 2004_ wood_ desert textures since it came out, and that's not the cause or your problem.David

Well I think I may have tracked down the problem to MyWorld landclass. After unticking its entry in the scenery library the "slime" doesn't appear. I'll do some more checking and if that it the problem I'll post a report in their forum.

Well I still can't get this one resolved. I also seem to get default desert textures when using MyWorld landclass even though, as far as I am aware, I have replaced them with the revised textures (seen with FSGenesis landclass). I suppose I'll just have to switch off MyWorld when flying in certain areas.Monument Valley with MyWorldhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/76823.jpgMonument Valley with FSGenesishttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/76824.jpgGrand Canyon with MyWorldhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/76825.jpgGrand Canyon with FSGenesishttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/76826.jpg
