  1. Well I think I've got the answer to my question now!
  2. But there's a difference between having a general interest in "flying" and dedicating hours of your life to a hobby. I can imagine there are plenty that start the former but end up the later.
  3. But Flight won't just be Hawaii (apart from the free version) and I would imagine that there are a large number of current MSFS users that gained an interest in aviation because of the MS program rather than the other way round.
  4. If true, I think it's excellent news actually. It will hopefully bring a load of fresh blood into the hobby.
  5. Well I'm convinced it's Flight. Not necessarily default but still Flight.
  6. My total guess is that, unless we here otherwise by June/July, the release will be next October rather than this.
  7. Well, as far as I know, FS9 products are still being sold so why shouldn't FSX products continue to be sold well into the future?
  8. I thought the PC Pilot article was just a rehash of what we know already - so not new news.
  9. I need my fix of new MS Flight news asap before I go cold turkey! :( :(
  10. There's on the page to buy it online.
  11. Correction! It's due tomorrow. I thought today was the 21st. :(
  12. I very much doubt we'll get anything more than just a few more details plus expected release date - IMHO of course.
  13. I'd be interested to see where all this leaves third party sellers like Flight1, Simflight etc.
  14. Totally agree. All hobbies new new blood coming in to help to maintain them.
  15. If FSX information hadn't been leaked early we probably wouldn't have known anything about it until later the year it was released.Just because we haven't heard a lot about Flight doesn't mean there isn't a possibility of a 2011 release.
  16. The lack of any official response to this does make me wonder if there'll ever be another Avsim conference. I was never able to attend but, if that was the case, it would be quite sad.
  17. How can you be sure there won't be sloped runways?
  18. FS98,FS2000,FS2004 and FSX were all "as real as it got" using the systems and programming at the time they came out.
  19. So January 2011 then? :( Public beta? Sounds like the days of private beta until release are long gone now.
  20. The message says "The new version of FSX is currently in Manufacturing and new product is expected to become available early May, 2010."So the message is well old even if the info isn't.
  21. Think it's been sold out for a number of weeks now. I guess it takes time for MS to dust down the machinery to get a new batch run off!
  22. Think I have to agree with you there.
  23. Cosidering this seems to be one of the worst things to happen to the aviation industry for many years I'm surprised that this thread isn't even longer. I'm also surprised that most of the posts (as far as I can see) seem to be from this side of the pond. I always thought that Avsim had a large US base. Do they know about what's going on?
  24. I guess the press release could come out anytime between now and next millenium!
