No Descent Checklist

Congratulations again Bryan on a sterling effort. However, I seem to have a problem. Everything works fine from a cold and dark startup, taxi, takeoff, after take off checklist and then when I get to descent checklist , we get no further. The FO simply continues to respond "I'm ready for the brief." I've tried it several times on different flights but with the same outcome..... any ideas?

Hi Howard,YOu need to do the Approach briefing first, then call for the descent checklist.Regards
