Finding weather

Featured Replies

I want to know the answer to this question. When was a certain type of weather experienced at a certain airport. For example, give me a list of the severe thunderstorms that hit DTW for the past several years. All of the websites I am finding answer the question what was the weather like on this day in history.I want to know when in history was the weather like this in a particular place.Does anyone have a website?

Using any of the excellent Hifi Sim products (ASE, As2012, etc), you can search the wx database for the type of weather you desire and have it running whenever, whereever you want.

I have ASE. Unless I am missing something, it doesn't do what I want. I can look for a certain type of current weather or I can load historical weather. I can't look for a certain type of weather at a certain airport in the historical database.I just need a website that has data for specific cities so I know the date and time to load in ASE.

How far back are you trying to go? Here's a site that goes back about 3.5 years to Nov 06, 2008: NavLost.eu.EDIT: Just found another for North America that goes back to Jan 01, 1998: Surface Data Text Listing. Just select the state, province, or area and it'll list metar data for at least some of the airports.EDIT 2: Just reread your original post and realized that what you are after is a search weather/airport list. Neither of the above do that.Rich

Thanks for the help. I actually did a little more Google work and found this: http://www4.ncdc.noaa.gov/cgi-win/wwcgi.dll?wwEvent~StormsIt only works for the US but you can search by state/territory, filter by county and weather event type. It returns the date, time and location of the event.
