Wrong heading indications in FS2002

Featured Replies

Hello!I have a very annoying problem with my FS2002.Even having reinstalled my FS2002 over and over again, theheading still reads out the wrong direction, e.g. at KLAX, lined up Rwy 7L, which of course is about 70 degrees it says 120 degrees, etc.How can I fix this?Grateful for help.It isn't nice to just not know where you're flying.Hans HermanssonSWEDEN

Make sure gyro drift is unchecked. Some aircraft show a drift that can be significant.Mark.

Remember how ya used to tap on a real life gauge when it seemed to be stuck -- a watch, a gas gauge, a thermometer? Do the same thing here except tap the D key. It'll reset the indicator to the correct heading. Not sure why it happens, but I've seen this in random situations and various planes(gauges) but the solution is simple.-------------------Racartronit means something, but I just can't remember what

This is real world. The actual DG does the same thing and needs resetting occasionally with the magnetic compass as a reference.

Have you installed scenery designed for FS2004 (Afcad2)? That is a likely cause of this problem. Delete all FS2004 sceneries from fs2002 (it's not enough to disable them), then add back one-by-one and test each to determine which one(s) cause the problem. You can search this forum to find more on this problem. -- Dick Bixler
