How do I get Sound from the Client Computer

Featured Replies

Hi Simmers,I setup a second computer in my room and have joined the two via a crossover cable and have chosen to run AS2012 and PFE from the client computer. Although I know nothing about computers I did manage to follow the instructions and surprisingly managed to get WX feeds into FSX. (although PFE chooses to route it self via the wireless and not the cable) (problem for another rainy day)My question is How Do I Get the Sound over from the Client Machine? No Atis No ATC and No AS2012 WX reports. The client computer has the sound ok but its not feeding into Sever Computer. I'm running both computers on W7thanksIM2

Try the green headphone jack out to the 'line in' port on the other.

Plug speakers into your client computer's sound card. AS2012 will not send sounds to your server computer.

...doesn't have to, Jim: merely a slim sound extension cable (both ends green-plugged, stereo) from the green sound out to the blue line in socket on the other pc will move all his sounds onto the other pc. There's other solutions, too, if he Googles it.Here's the cable: http://www.mycablemart.com/store/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=1788

LOL thanks all,I love this computer stuff... on one side I'm marveling at how magical this stuff is. I spent a whole day placing a few files here and there typing numbers into INI's and EXE's that I knew nothing about and in the end like magic with no smoke no mirrors it worked. But now for the final bit the sound needs to come from its own copper wire, how simple. Love it. thanksIM2
