March 20, 201214 yr I bought the justflight dc-6 shortly after it was released. I added the patches a couple weeks later. My version (download) has had consistent problems with the autopilot not working correctly or not at all. In addition after multiple adjustments and flying configs the aircrafts elevator and trim tab are totally unstable. The aircraft flutters in pitch and it continually gets worse over a few minutes to that point where no matter how much up elevator and up trim the aircraft settles into a increasing down angle dive. I have uninstalled, re-installed no results. I tried the DEMO version after buying the full version to see if maybe it was something my download. No results. I sent a youtube link to justflight so they could see the behavior and all they have said is they can not reproduce the behavior. I love the airplane but 40 bucks later it is still sitting in the hangar waiting for some sort of patch or fix. Is anyone else having the same problem? Any ideas on how to fix the autopilot? I have the dc-3 as well as the connie and they work just fine. Thanks in advance for your help.Cheers
July 7, 201411 yr Here we are two years after your post, and I bought the DC-6B last week, and am also having problems with the autopilot. Mine more fundamental than yours: I cannot seem to set heading hold. The POH instructions say to set the heading you want the AP to hold with the knob on the Heading indicator. Doesn't seem to do have any effect on the autopilot. Has anyone solved this problem? My system specs: Intel [email protected] - 5.2 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080, 32GB DDR4 RAM, Noctua NH-D15 CPU Cooler,1TB Seagate SSD, 4TB Seagate HD, Windows 10, Asus 32 inch monitor, Saitek Yoke, Throttle Quadrant, Rudder Pedals and Trim Wheel Sims: MSFS2020 Preferred Aircraft Black Square Bonanza, and Baron, A2A Comanche, PMDG DC-6, Red Wing L1049
July 8, 201411 yr I don't have any problems with this - have you tried using the pop-up panel for the AP? There you can click the master, and the heading hold and both seem to work fine this end. I picked this aicraft up in the sale for £5 and although the systems are light (non-existent), it's a nice immersive aircraft with good sounds - good fun.
