Frame rate with NGX sp1b+OrbX YMML2.0

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,This framerate problem has been bothering me for quite a while. My PC specs:i7 2600K 3.4Ghz overclocked to 4.4GhzGigabyte AMD Radeon HD6950 1G2×4G Kingston HyperX 1600MzGigabyte Z68MA-D2H-B3 MotherboardFlying the NGX (sp1b) in the virtual cockpit at OrbX YMML(2.0) gives app.20-25fpsSame thing at night the frame-rate drops down to 8-10fpsREX2.0(no overdrive) is also used.I've tried bojotes, FSX booster and some other tweaks, didnt seem to work for me.Any ideas? Is it the video card that's dragging me behind?Cheers!

Do you have the ORBX app that turns on and off Night Lighting?WIth night lighting turned off and flying in daytime you do get better performance. Night switch on and flying at night does give a drop in performance. YMML is heavy with night lighting as well.Try turning your AutoGen slider to dense or normal when you are flying at night and reduce the number of cars in the YMML control panel. You won't notice that stuff at night and their would be less traffic in Melbourne in the late hours anyways.

I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

Hello Sgt. Victor,ORBX has a tool which shuts off and turns on background lights that usually always run in FSX day and night. In other words, all night lights are always on and using up computing power.that drastically cuts into FSX frames when over large cities in complex planes. During the day, with the day setting working the night lights are turned off and performance jumps. At night the lights are turned on and severly hampers night performance. That is possibly why you are having these effects with the NGX over Melbourne day and night. Some of our fellows down at the AVSIM Unofficial ORBX forum could likely help you, as might ORBX itself. Melbourne is a fantastic performing airport for its size and with the night lights off frames are excellent.I sure hope that helps. :hi:Kind regards,

I've tried the cars and the autogen is always set to normal-sparse. I will try the night lighting option and see how it works matethanks

Matthew, lets draw straws next time so that only one of us speaks the others mind! :(
