I'm thinking about buying Maximus IV Extreme-Z mobo and I was wondering what good memory set would be good...Thinking of getting 6GB of ram

Why such an expensive board? Yikes. I can't see spending that kind of dough in the shadow of an imminent Ivy Bridge launch. That and your $350 board doesn't PCIe 3.0.To answer your question: That chipset uses dual channel memory, so a good dual channel 8GB (2x4GB) 1600-1800MHz 1.35v kit is ideal. Use Newegg's great advanced search function to narrow things down.

If you really want an Asus RoG board, get the Maximus V, it has the Intel Z77 chipset, and thus Ivy Bridge compatibility, and also PCI 3.0, for the new graphics cards. For RAM, it's not needed to buy more than 8GB, it's also not needed to buy superfast 200$ RAM, but make sure your RAM is not slow. I had Corsair 1600 CL9, had microstuttering. Lended some Mushkin 1600 CL6, less microstuttering / hitching, I now have Corsair Dominator 8GB 2133 CL9, which gave me similar results. Whenever I set my RAM to 1333 MHz and 9-9-9-24, I have more microstuttering and hitching. Faster RAM will not improve framerate at all, but it makes things just a little smoother, difference is not like day and night, but it's just a little smoother, worth the extra 50$ imo.

I know it's pretty expensive that's why I'm still thinking about it...any other good but not too expensive board you could suggest..

Asus P8Z77 Pro, or Asus P8Z77 Deluxe. My suggestion is, get a Z77 board or get no board, cuz they will give you better performance in a combo with Ivy Bridge.MSI Z77A-GD65Both Asus and MSI are generally the best.
