Adding 2 monitors

Featured Replies

My system :intel 2.66 ghzquad core processor4gb ramnvidia 8800gt graphics card640gb hdCan anyone advise me whether or not my system will easily cope with adding 2 more monitors to my existing fsx experience. Im thinking of adding a second video card to match my nvidia 8800gt card to give me ability to add a third monitor to have three views (front, and two side) views when flying fsx. Also does a video card have to match my existing one or would a cheaper card do the trick. Also any advice on what monitors to buy would be a great help. Am only using 1 monitor at present, a proview 17" lcd which has 8 ms, do I need to match the other monitors that also has 8ms.Thanks, John

By adding another similar card 8800, I don't believe you can have surround video. But IF you create a seperate view and undock it on the 3rd new monitor, then your CPU takes a hit. With your single 8800 card you should be able to have two monitors as a single view. On spot view your aircraft would split in the middle by the bezel. However its not too bad in VC cockput view except your runway (outside) is sometimes intrurrpted by the monitor bezel. My current set up is like this. I am living with it until the new Ivy bride and 6xxx system comes throughManny
