RE: Engines Inflight

Featured Replies

Hi i seem to be having a small problem inflight. I notice when in level cruise that the engine readings go up and down say from 87 to 89 and back down again this keeps happening. I am running AS2012.Kind Regrads Chris Harwood

Perhaps there's wind and the engines just need a little bit of oomph to maintain the speed?

This is normal behaviour since the autothrottle holds FMC target speed. The speed is influenced by winds aloft etc.

Not only head or tail winds but also local atmospheric pressure differences, so small climbs or descents are normal. These are exagerated by our weather engine changing from area to area compared to real transitions.
