March 30, 201214 yr Hi everyone, Firstly I freely admit my n00bness and i beg some kind Flight Sim veteran soul will take pity on me, with what is undoubtedly a wearisome and oft-tread upon request for help. I have trouble with my Saitek throttle in FSX.. even when I try to physically match the throttle's position with where autopilot will have it (flying CLS A310 or 737), when I take it off AP my throttle is very difficult to control and I more or less have to guess where to put it to achieve the desire effect.. i.e. the lever's position on the hardware has no corresponence to what my engines are doing in game.. generally thrust goes up exponentially and I will have to artificially raise the physical lever to full throttle just so i can get room for the motion to pull back and hope that the game "catches" it on the downswing. I hope that makes sense. Well naturally I did what any sensible 21st century gamer would do and I googled my problem reading endless threads on vaguely similar topics from throughout the past 5 years and that is what brought me to the mysterious and awe inspiringly complex piece of software that is FSUIPC. I bought the thing, hoping it would be the silver bullet to my throttle troubles. Only problem is, even after reading the manual (and several google-derived how-to threads) I still don't really have a good idea of how to use FSUIPC to achieve my desired effect in game. I tried to calibrate my throttle in the program, and I deleted the joystick assignment for throttle axis that was loaded into the FSX settings, but now the game does not respond at all when I pull my Saitek lever. Basically, I am just asking for some help here.. hoping that maybe some one out there has gone through this same situation and will be able to explain the steps I need to take in laymans term so that I can land an airplane without having a dramatic movie-like sequence leading to me taxiing off the hammerhead at 50 knots everytime i land.. as fun as that is.
March 30, 201214 yr Since you are quite green here, I'll let this slip and move it to the appropriate forum.http://forum.avsim.n...ds-please-read/Also:Search IS your friend.http://forum.avsim.n...le-controlling/http://forum.avsim.n...ctual-position/I found it by searching match throttle.Quite easy. Don't let me catch you again :Peace:If you have questions, shoot! :rolleyes:And btw. welcome to the AVSIM forums!
March 30, 201214 yr I tried to calibrate my throttle in the program, and I deleted the joystick assignment for throttle axis that was loaded into the FSX settings, but now the game does not respond at all when I pull my Saitek lever. Then you did something wrong. You do know that quite an extensive and very detailed manual is supplied with the FSUIPC? In which Pete really in detail explains everything you can and must do to make it work.In short:Unassign in FSX.Assign in axis window the appropriate function for FSX, choosing between calibrate in FSUIPC and direct.Voila.To use FSUIPC, you really have to give it couple of hours to completely understand it. It's very VERY powerful piece of software, but without real understand how it works, you are gonna get lost. Especially if you want to start using Profiles.

Especially if you want to start using Profiles.Just briefly: what does one gain in using FSUIPC for calibration? Smoother operation of my USB yoke? I've never even looked at using it, but I will if it's really worth the 2h! I'm pretty bad about reading manuals, as others might know who have read posts of mine!Cheers,Noel Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. March 31, 201214 yr Author I was just desperate for a solution to my runaway throttle problem, and my internet searches on the topic consistently brought me to topics dealing with FSUIPC. I use a Saitek throttle which is plugged into my Saitek USB yoke. I find that when flying slower GA aircraft its not really a big deal but when I am bringing a default 737-800 or my CLS A310 in on approach, I absolutely lose the ability to predict what my throttle is going to do based on where I have my lever positioned. I am not sure if FSUIPC can correct this, and I am apparently not intelligent enough to comprehend the manual without some plain talk help from some one who has used the program. @Word Not Allowed - thank you for your help. I apologize for posting to the wrong forum, I understand my n00b questions must be quite tiresome for you.
March 31, 201214 yr No, no way to predict, except by a feeling OR if the aircraft it showing it, like the NGX for example. Then you can set it exactly. No tiresome! I'm here to help others, but I also expect others to help themselves at the same time!
