Auto brake disarm light remains on

Featured Replies

I had a problem with the autobrake disarm light remaining on after I mistakenly choose the 1 position first before the RTO. I thought it would still go off after few seconds but it remained on during the whole flight. So is that considered a failure that I need to clear up on the NGX FMC or is it normal? Also I have tried putting it back on disarm and RTO again, but same result.

Hi Sagga,I checked your problem in the QRH, and it states:

AUTOBRAKEselectswitch ........ OFF -->AUTO BRAKE DISARM light extinguishes: ---END----->AUTO BRAKE DISARM light stays illuminated: Do not takeoff.
So, I think you will probably have to reset this failure in the FMC. However, maybe you may set your auto break to RTO and move your throttles to reverse and back. And than auto break off and RTO again. May this helps, else you have to use the FMC to clear the failure as stated above.Best regards,Jonathan

Thanks Jonathan,So I shouldn't have continued with the takeoff. I think that when I landed the autobrake did not work properly. But I wonder if they would have to fix this "failure" if it was on the real airplane. It's easy to choose 1, 2, etc by mistake instead of RTO.Regards,
