changing sequences of panels

Featured Replies

can anyone explain how to change the various panels views. the default is the vc view from the Captains side:

to get to the overhead panel, i have to press the "A" key some 7 times to arrive at the overhead panel. I know that there are various shift keys that bring up the FMC (Shift+3) and the pedastal etc but it would be great to have a quick key to access the overhead panel.

me bieng lazy?

thanks

Mel

Try pressing Shift and A a couple of times, you cycle through the viewpoints in reverse. There's no pop up for the overhead, it's not like the FMS CDU or config manager. If you want you can go in to the panel.cfg and reorder the viewpoints there.

Hi Mel,

as I encounter the same problem it would great if you could give some more detailed information about that hotkey procedure. I assume you were talking about the "panel.cfg" of the JS41, weren't you? Where am I supposed to put that entry and what syntax has to be used? And do you see a chance of doing the same with the other panels?

Thanks a lot and happy flights

Peter

if you are still waiting for a solution this is what I did.

open the cfg file. head down to the following

[CameraDefinition.011]

Title = "Overhead Panel"

Guid = {B7032D83-7C77-41a1-96D0-C1D907B36D1E}

Origin = Virtual Cockpit

MomentumEffect = No

SnapPbhAdjust = None

SnapPbhReturn = False

PanPbhAdjust = None

PanPbhReturn = False

Track = None

ShowAxis = FALSE

AllowZoom = TRUE

InitialZoom = 0.75

SmoothZoomTime = 2.0

ZoomPanScalar = 1.0

ShowWeather = Yes

XyzAdjust = TRUE

ShowLensFlare=FALSE

Category = Cockpit

PitchPanRate=20

HeadingPanRate=60

InitialXyz=0.425, -0.58, -0.5

InitialPbh=-59.0, 0, 0

HotKeySelect=2

I added the line in red above and it is activated by the F10 key. you have to use F9 to get back to the virtual cockpit.

hope this helps

Mel
