Planes shutting off and becoming unstartable

Featured Replies

I'm asking this here because so far this is happening with non-default airplanes and some other addons like orbx etc installed and respecting Lockheeds support system by not cluttering up their forum with something they can't technically help me out with since they only want issues w/ addon free installations. Has anyone been having issues with aircraft just shutting off after making a change in the menus at all? It's a coming and going issue with my install. I'm down to two entire addon planes because hardly any of Caredanos work right. It's happened with the Centurion, both Dukes and the C340.. I'll be sitting on the ramp or runway, go to the menu to adjust some things and when it returns to the game the engines just shut down and refuse to start. Sometimes just exiting the game and restarting will clear it up or loading another saved flight. Other times I have to do a menu dance in the realism or bloom setting to get it back right where it will start. I've had realism on easy and ctrl-e still wouldn't start the planes. It's the single biggest thing holding me back from using it more than I have.

if you are still using the default start for P3D i would change it, but ive only had this issue once while i was flying.. i was not impressed as the engine cut out and the aircraft rolled over and crashed, was not very high up and auto pilot was on. I have not had it since.

I do have the fsx.exe in the p3d folder as it helps with me testing addons.

Just a follow up to this problem. I have played two days straight now and not had a single problem now. What I changed was any use of the `apply' button.. No idea what it even does, seems redundant but when this engine cut out was happening I was using "apply" then "accept".. Now I simply use `accept' only and no more problems.
