April 5, 201214 yr 2 flights without any issues using 296.10. I did actually get bump in frame rates BUT, I also revisited Ryan's nvidia setup post and changed Antialiasing - Setting from 8xS to 4xS and Transparency Supersampling from 4x to 2x. I believe that to be factor in my case. Is this the post you refer to? http://forum.avsim.net/topic/355265-how-to-fix-blurryfuzzy-panel-vc-in-737ngx/page__p__2315548__hl__nvidia__fromsearch__1#entry2315548 Cheers Richie Lumsden
April 5, 201214 yr Is this the post you refer to? http://forum.avsim.n..._1#entry2315548 Cheers Actually, it's this one that is pinned in the PMDG General Forum. It's a great guideline for those with NVIDIA cards. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/324786-nvidia-configuration-guide-inspector-2xxxx-drivers-version-20-explanations-of-all-settings/ Regards,Bob Quick
April 5, 201214 yr Have to say I disagree with the placebo effect posts, and also with the FPS improvements. I'm not a coder but I do pay attention to benchmarks and write stuff down and I will post my results with both sets of drivers. I said I had had very good results and I have. I am not looking for FPS; I have enough of those already. I am looking for smoothness, and I'm not sure the age of FSX has anything to do with it. If Nvidia have (as they say with each release) improved the handling of data through the cores and the actual movement of texels and stuff through the card using the DX9 API, then of course you would see a difference. They always claim improvements for all kinds of games that are as old if not older than FSX (if you read the release notes on all drivers, which I do)..Your results may vary..It's the same with rigs..you can have two rigs using pretty much the same kit and have wildly varying results in FSX for a number of reasons. I have tweked my card and my cfg file. This will have an effect on any new or improved routines that deal with the kinds of things we/i have tweaked. That's like saying putting certain) new parts on an old car won't improve its performance. I use NVI, and that coupled with various different AA and AF settings HAS made a difference. Still, it's my opinion, nothing more... P3D has improved graphic code that John Nicol says IS affected by different driver releases (and cards - seems the 580GTX's aree the only cards "stuttering" in P3D right now, and that has got better, for me at least, with the new driver set. Your mileage is obviously varying.. best jake JAKE EYREIt's a small step from the sublime to the ridiculous...Napoleon Bonaparte
