MS Visual C++ Runtime Library

Featured Replies

Hi,

I get even this error and the FSX is crashed, I get this error relatively often. Know everyone what is the problem and how can I avoid it?

See if the following link will help - http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_other-gaming/microsoft-visual-c-runtime-library-error-assertion/b06cb36b-6d13-4aad-9971-6476892767c1. Make sure you have all the proper MS Visuals C++ Redistributables installed. FSX is an old program and needs MSV's from 2005 to 2010. They are not backward compatible. Developers use MSV's to program their FSX addons and make sure their addons are properly installed. FSX/Acceleration used them too. Most MSV's are installed at the time of installing the addon or software but I have seen some people have deleted old MSV's thinking they have old stuff on their system and think they are cleaning things up. They aren't. Once you have all the MSV's installed from 2005 to 2010, run Windows Update to make sure you have the latest installed update installed (they are almost updated daily by Windows update).

Best regards,

Jim

I actually always install the updates from Microsoft. I looked to the supportcenter and have search for current updates, but there was just a update for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1, which I had installed long time ago; else nothing. I think all of the version are installed. I read your link and I think it could be a RAM problem, my system is not really highend, although I got this problem with my FS9, too. Thanks for your answer!

I think all of the version are installed.

You have to look into the Add/Remove Programs to see if you have them all installed. Just clicking on Windows update or going to the website will not do it. RAM issues are the most common causes for FSX crashes. Good luck!

Best regards,

Jim
