April 5, 201214 yr Hello, All! I've at last have bought FSX full version. Now questions is that I'm unable to give the ILS localizer frequency to the radio of CRJ700. Its radio is different from all other airplanes. So please tell me (by image if you can) how to set ILS frequency at CRJ 700 radio. Even at B737, setting frequency is easy. Second, question is that (some people will be angry by this question, I request them please don't be angry because it's a basic question) how we can see in CRJ Cockpit that plane has intercept the glide slope? Regards, Autopilot.
April 5, 201214 yr Moderator Use shift 2 to bring up the radio stack. Locate the two frequencies showing for NAV1 - use the mouse t6o change the frequency on the right when it's set there's a switch in between the two frequencies that will switch the two positions. Move the right freq (standby) to the left (active). When the a/c intercepts the glideslope - you will see the letters GS appear top right of the PFD. April 5, 201214 yr I'm assuming you've found the radio stack, that's a universal button in the cockpit for all planes. What I've found that's different in the CRJ is that the frequency I am tuning is the ACTIVE freqency, therefore no frequency swap is required once set. All other planes I've flown, the frequency must be swapped to active after tuning. If you hover your mouse over NAV1, it will show what is your active frequency and which is the standby or non active frequency. On your second question, you'll know when autopilot has intercepted the localizer and glide slope when the flight director is turned on and the pink bubbles both horizontal and vertical begin to drift towards center. You should notice the artifical horizon move as the plane intercepts the localizer, and then a gradual 3% altitude loss on the glide slope once that is intercepted. VGic This is not the CRJ 700 Frequency Set Method that you're telling me. Sorry. Means no need to switch between Standby and Active frequency? Am I right?
April 6, 201214 yr Correct. That is my experience for the CRJ fleet I have. Also as I said above, verify the active frequency by hovering the mouse over. Jason BocheDelta Virtual Airlines Assistant Chief Pilot, B767-300
