Administrator not recognised as an administrator

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am currently running FSX on Win 7 64-bit. I am experiencing a problem that comes in the way of manually installing liveries in the Aircraft.cfg files.

So here's what happens.

I can open the aircraft.cfg files and copy the textures, but when I add the "[FLTSIM.(number)]" entries into the CFG, and I attempt to save the file, it says "access is denied" and I therefore have to save to My Documents and copy and paste the CFG file into the aircraft file. I am an administrator on my system.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Kevin L

hold down the SHIFT key, right click on the file, then edit that way. When you hold down the shift key, and right click, one of your choices will be "open as administrator" and gives an even higher level of admin rights.

I am an admin on ALL my personal machines too, but sometimes you still need to elevate to "administrator" to get it done.

Ah, I hadn't heard about that before. Sure enough, it works fine.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks,
