Installing SDK

Featured Replies

Hello,

In order to get the Airport Design Editor working, I need the SDK. Apparently it is located on disc 1 of the FSX deluxe version, but when I put the disc in the drive and open it in Explorer, the disc starts running and does so for a long time, without enabling me to access the SDK folder. After about five minutes I've aborted my attempt, as I don't believe so much time should be required to read the contents of a disc. I would be grateful for any ideas as to what may cause this strange situation.

Regards

René

I sometimes get that too, I just eject and put the disc back in, or I give it a restart. Have you tried those? Often the simplest solutions are the answer.

Actually, you open folder to view files. Then in the folder called "SDK", you'll find the SDK setup. Just click on "setup" and you'll be installing the SDK. For more information, search "FSX SDK Installation" on the web.

Thanks for the replies guys. I've meanwhile found the culprit, i.e. a setting in the controlpanel of the computer (hardware, DVD-drive tasks). After changing 'install software' to 'show folders' installation went without any problems.

Regards and thanks again.
