April 6, 201214 yr Hello, In order to get the Airport Design Editor working, I need the SDK. Apparently it is located on disc 1 of the FSX deluxe version, but when I put the disc in the drive and open it in Explorer, the disc starts running and does so for a long time, without enabling me to access the SDK folder. After about five minutes I've aborted my attempt, as I don't believe so much time should be required to read the contents of a disc. I would be grateful for any ideas as to what may cause this strange situation. Regards René (Windows 7 64 bit, i7-2600 at 3.4 GHz, 4 GB RAM, NVIdia Geforce GTX 560Ti) René Bongers
April 6, 201214 yr I sometimes get that too, I just eject and put the disc back in, or I give it a restart. Have you tried those? Often the simplest solutions are the answer. Happy Flying, Clem Wu Beta Tester for OZx, Iris Simulations and Shade.
April 6, 201214 yr Actually, you open folder to view files. Then in the folder called "SDK", you'll find the SDK setup. Just click on "setup" and you'll be installing the SDK. For more information, search "FSX SDK Installation" on the web. Alex Leung Aerospace Engineering Undergraduate Glider & Private Pilot via Royal Canadian Air Cadets
April 6, 201214 yr Author Thanks for the replies guys. I've meanwhile found the culprit, i.e. a setting in the controlpanel of the computer (hardware, DVD-drive tasks). After changing 'install software' to 'show folders' installation went without any problems. Regards and thanks again. René René Bongers
