Transfer MegaSceneryX to another hard drive problem

Featured Replies

I want to transfer my MegaSceneryX sceneries from my 1TB hard drive to my SSD without reinstalling from the discs. Problem is that FSX won't let me add the scenery through the Scenery Library after I moved the scenery to my SSD. I tried using the "clicking blank space method" that I saw in Youtube videos but it only works once in a while. I don't want to reinstall MegaSceneryX from the discs again because it takes a few hours doing it that way.

You don;t have to.

I have moved Megascenery photoscenery around without any problem

All you had to do was edit the scenery.cfg file. Search for scenery, cfg and then search for the string "megascenery" in that file, do a string search and replace the old location with the new location. Thats it.

Always remove the senery from FSX before moving it to a new location or you will get lots of errors as FSX fails to find the bgl at the old location.

SceneryConfigEditor v1.1.0 might let you rename the directories since it does not bring up FSX to do its job, just mods the cfg files.

That worked. Thanks.
