April 12, 201214 yr Okay someone in the controller got ###### when I was flying online, my bad, thought I knew a bit about VOR but I don't know s**t.. well my question is, how do we know when we are drifted by wind when flying with VOR navigation, which indicator (needle) tells me that I have to make a heading correction due to crosswind? I haven't had a chance to re-read the basic manual. Thanx

April 12, 201214 yr The simplest way is to use the GPS with a flight plan filed (or just use the next waypoint feature). The Desired Track is in the upper left corner, while your actual track is in the middle top. You can get your heading from your flight instruments or the red numbers that appear when you press Shift Z. First set your heading so the Actual Track equals the Desired Track. Then the difference between your actual track and your heading is the correction factor for the wind. Hope this helps, Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page

Then you adjust your heading to keep the CDI centered.
