Shockwave Light Configs Anywhere?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Just got A2A's Shockwave lights for FSX and FS9, however, there are a few Add ons that I can't figure out. Does anyone have the following? There are more I want to address, but for a starting point:

Qualitysim 757

PMDG 737-800/900 NGX lighting built into the model

Carenado Kingair C90 lighting built into the model

Carenado Malibu PA46 lighting built into the model

Actually, is there a place where there is a master list that anyone knows of? The Qualitysim 757 for one surprised me as the description of lights is vague in the cfg. I'll take anything I can get. I did do a search, but since the new Avsim site is up now, the links are dead ends. Thanks for any help in advance.

Best, Jeff

Not sure if this really is what you want: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc526949.aspx#mozTocId274992 (list of light codes in the cfg)

Also found this for the NGX: http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/forums/index.php?/topic/15533-pmdg-737-ngx-with-shockwave-3d-lights/page__pid__108274#entry108274

I'll also try to work on the PA46's lights config as soon as possible (probably till tomorrow?)

Hope that helps a little

Thanks so much Flo. I looked at the Qualitysim 757 again and there is no taxi light entry, wierd, yet there is a taxi light on the aircraft for sure.

I noticed the same on a few addons. This is going to make it next to impossible to add the shockwave lights on some, and now I feel like I wasted my time getting the lights if I can't use them on most of the fleet. If you figure out the PA46 or Kingair, let me know, that would be awesome. Also, if you want me to paste the light section from the QW 757, maybe you can make sense of it better than me. I guess I have no patience sometimes. Have a great night and thanks again. :)

Best, Jeff

Jeff, it's a matter of try and error to get the right configs for the planes, so only having the aircraft.cfg wouldn't be of use here. But I own the QW757 myself and am planning to install it again anyways, so I'l try it on that one as well. But I don't own the C90, so I won't be able to do any work on that one.

I'l post the entry for the Piper later the day.

Cheers

Here we go with the Piper:

just paste the following into the [lights] section of the aircraft.cfg

light.4 = 5, 7.80, -0.25, -2.10, Fx_shockwave_landing_light_short

The only problem might be that the shockwave lights are displayed even though the gear is retracted, so you might want to add the SW-gauge

(paste gaugeXX=shockwave_lights!SW Lights_gear,1,1,1,1 into the panel.cfg

I've also added these effects to the landing lights (don't know if you like it, but I thought I'd post it here, anyway):

light.5 = 6, 0.50, -20.90, 0.15, Fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow

light.6 = 6, 0.50, 20.90, 0.15, Fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow

As soon as I'll get to work on the 757's lights, I'll post its configuration, too

Happy landings

Flo,

I can't even begin to tell you how much I appreciate your help. The time I get to fly in my sim can be limited due to the real world, and I used to spend hours and hours in cfg world as well. I'll look for the QW 757 config. Thanks a million for your efforts! I hope I can return the favor to you. :)

Best, Jeff

Here is what I use for the PMDG 737-900GNX:

Panel.cfg:

gauge03=shockwave_lights!SW Lights, 1,1,1,1 //shockwave light

gauge04=Shockwave_Lights!SW Lights_taxi_gear, 1,1,1,1 //shockwave light

Aircraft.cfg:

[LIGHTS]

//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing, 6=taxi, 7=recognition, 8=wing, 9=logo, 10=cabin

light.0 = 4, 51.50, 0.00, 5.50, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclight,

light.1 = 4, 50.00, 0.00, 4.50, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclight,

light.3 = 6, 48.25, -0.25, -5.40, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow,

light.4 = 5, 4.500, 8.25, 0.30, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow,

light.5 = 5, 4.500, -8.50, 0.30, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow,

light.6 = 5, 5.500, 3.25, -3.75, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow,

light.7 = 5, 5.500, -3.75, -3.75, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow,

Of course, everyone has different tastes in lighting, but if you like it great!
