April 17, 201214 yr Hi. Can someone tell me what are the files that depict the coast line in the default scenery folders, are they HPXXXXXX.bgl, or FL, or ST, or ??? And what do the custom-made LWM and LWP files represent? LWM is land-water-mask, a file that defines the shape of a water body (hence the coast). Anything not expressly defined as water is land by default. HP*.bgl files are effectively LWM files, HP denoting hydro-poly. HL*.bgl files, as Coltrane said, are hydro lines. They define the vector coastline, and show up as the foreshore or beach... the line that is drawn on the edge of the land. LWP? I don't know, sorry. That's not one I've noticed before. btw, why posting 3 times? :P Yeah... what's with all the multiple posts? There are a few of those around. Do you think something is broken? Cheers, D
April 17, 201214 yr Author Thanks for your answers and sorry about the multiple posting. Not easy to deal with a Mac OK, it is not LWP but LWM2 and LWM3. Sorry about that. So what is the issue (missing file?) if I have water between the beach (HL*.bgl file) and the mainland. The corresponding HP*.bgl file is missing or corrupted? Thanks Ghiom
April 18, 201214 yr LWM2 is FS2000/2k2 format and LWM3 was introduced in FS9. The main difference is that LWM3 can be sloped. The HL9 files provide the beach line. If the water is not matched to the beach, it probably means there are parts of two sceneries active, or missing landclass. If it's mising landclass the water edge will be NS/EW aligned. Could be some other things like terrain.cfg edits, but not common. scott s. .
