April 19, 200422 yr I have started with this plane in the commercial lessons. One littleproblem is that you can't see the upper part of manifold pressure instruments. Some kind of shaddow hide them. What can be done? It won't help to lit the instrumentpanel light. And in reallife they sure must be able to see the whole instrument.
April 21, 200422 yr Maybe you should increase your monitor brightness, there is a shadow, but I can still make out the numbers. You can also hold your mouse over the gauge and the tooltip will show what the current MP is.

April 24, 200422 yr Are you using an Nvidia card? Every Nvidia card I've used always looked dark in D3D games. Somewhere in the control panel is an option to boost the gamma in D3D, try that. ATI has a similar option, but I don't need it. My monitor's at 50% brightness and I can see the top of the MP gauge just fine.

It's now a lemon, although it sure sounded good when it first came out. You're gonna get very little good from it in today's games.Next, you don't say what kind of monitor you have nor how old. I know that I had problems with games that were way too dark. I solved that problem by getting a new monitor; Samsung SyncMaster 192N, a nice flat panel screen which is WAY brighter than my old Iiyama monitor. The Iiyama was pretty good several years ago but for today it doesn't cut it. I don't know what their recent models are like but the Samsung is/has been very good for me. These old eyes, ya knows!
April 24, 200422 yr Author >Next, you don't say what kind of monitor you have nor how old.I have a Belinea 17" monitor which I bought about five years ago.BTW I tried a higher gamma setting from the NVIDIA color setting and I then could see the numbers on the MP instrument and also a clearerimage of the switches and buttons. But I have a feeling that the whole displays seems somewhat overbright with theese settings. And it's far to bright for reading text like here.
April 26, 200422 yr Hello, I too used the Baron 58 with a GeForce MX card. You need to adjust the GAMMA settings in the video card performace section under Direct3D settings. I now have an ATI so I don't have this problem anymore, however, you should be able to find the GAMMA settings and move the slider a few notches to the 'brighter' side (more gamma). Good Luck!
