April 19, 201214 yr Hey guys I couldn't resist the opportunity to get P3d with the new license, my cousin is interested in learning to fly. After some initial setup and testing, adding a few tweaks, sceneries and planes I can honestly say I am absolutely in love with the sim. My frames are high and the sim is so smooth it's like butter. Flying the RV-9 from Baytower feels alot like X-plane (which is a complement). I decided to limit my addons and associated programs to keep the install lean, so alot of my addon airports won't be going in unless I want to make a specific flight. Right now I just have a very detailed state of Florida photoscenery and airports. I have all the Orbx stuff plugged in to, but I think I'll wait until their scenery migrator tool comes out to get all my addon airports etc... I am just using EZCA for Track IR compatability, Sim Savvy Photoscenery, Active Sky, Enb, My real-air planes, the RV-7, and the NGX. The sim seems to really love photoscenery as the frames I am getting with 50cm photo-tiles without autogen are really high 45-60 range with all settings on max and the highest LOD, and it loads so fast from my ssd. I do have one problem with the ATC window turning the screen black when I open it, but I think that's a graphic setting on my end or perhaps a problem with enb bloom, so I am thinking of getting an ATC addon. So if anyone out there is on the fence I would proffer that they hop off and give P3d a try.
April 19, 201214 yr PingPong, Like you, I am very thrilled with P3D....btw, the ATC black screen is a "known bug" and LM is looking into it.......also the fact that the ATC opens dead center of screen and is not transparent - BUT, just a great alternate sim. cthiggin Tom Higginbotham - Montgomery, AL, USA
