April 23, 200422 yr Hi All,At the moment I am doing some research to enhance my Flightsimulator to a new level. I would like to add Voice Control to it. However I believe my requirements are a bit impossible. Could anybody advise me on the following please?Situation:I use VATSIM as my ATC and therefor have a second PC running Squawkbox and AVC (Advanced Voice Client). The headset use for ATC is connected to the second PC as well. The two PC's are connected by WideFS and FSUIPC (both registered).Requirement:I would like to use VoiceBuddy or Shoot or whatever good Voice recognision system is available on the second PC. But how would I enable this? Do I need to tweak WideFS for this, or would it not be any problem? Thanks in advance for your advise!Regards, Ferry
April 26, 200422 yr First of all I don't understand why you would want to use VoiceBuddy or Shoot on the second PC if that is not running FS, however. If you read the help section on Shoot's web site they do say that as long as the voice s/ware releases the sound card when it has finished using it there should be no problem using two such bits of s/ware.Both AVC & Shoot have a PTT function so as long as you assign two different keys for the PTT's you will be able to direct your voice to whichever program you want.Just remember which key is which, it's no use saying to a controller 'Flaps up' or reading back your clearance to Shoot :-)If you are running 2 computers and want to control FS by voice I would have thought the best way would be to put VoiceBuddy or Shoot on the computer running FS so you can control it.All you need is something like a clip mic for FS and your headset for VATSIM. If you use keyboards it makes life simpler because you can use the same key for PTT for both AVC and Shoot as they are on different keyboards and computers.HTH
