Are these good temps?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have been tinkering with voltages on my CPU and I have it stable now around 1.344-1.35. I was wondering if these temperatures are acceptable for a Corsair H100.

I didn't think you'll be asking this question... after everything.

Sure they are.

I see the exact same temps with my 30$ Scythe air cooler. There are pretty huge differences in prices in cooling, while the performance difference is actually quite small. A Dutch computer site has done a comparison a while ago with tens of air and water coolers, and in the end it turned our that the H100 only runs 5 degrees colder than my Scythe cooler. The extra $$$ is not worth the money imo. The only big advantage is that the H100 is smaller, my heatsink is huge. RAM sticks don't fit under hit so I have to move the fan a little bit more to the left side of the case.

I assume the cpu is idle? as it shows load: 0.0%. Or did you took this pictures after stressing?

AMD 7800X3D, 64GB 6000MHz CL30, INNO3D RTX 4080, Windows 11.

Guys, remember, not every chip is built the same. While some chips make 65c on 4.8, others are going to do 62c on 4.8 with the same Vcore. No chip is alike. To have decent comparisons, you would need to test on the same machine, with the same amount of thermal compound etc... this is comparing apples and oranges.

That's a judgment left for anyone to decide. For many is my watercooling setup not worth the money. For me, it's the best thing I could ever have for the computer.

Yup. Regardless of my smart alec comments to Ben, I'm still tempted to purchase the H100. I like the look, and it does provide a few extra degrees.

Unless you are doing really high voltage OC'ing, I doubt you will see any difference. The H100 really flexes its muscles when you pass 1.4volts. The main reason I even purchased it was because of my intentions on sending my SB to 4.5GHZ+ which requires high voltage...

And now you entered the chicken-mode
