April 24, 201214 yr Hey guys, I have completed 2 repaints now (one iFly 737 and on DreamFleet 727) and they were basic liverys. The quality turned out pretty good and now I'm looking into making the "private jet" type paints. I found a particular one I really like (On airliners.net search for M-STAR) but I have no idea if it can even be done. It would be nice to get some insight from the experienced guys here before I even try! Personally, from what I have learned, I can't see where to even begin! Hopefully someone can chime in! April 25, 201214 yr Depends on what program you are using, if it is Photoshop, I'd recommend looking here for some good PS tutorials - www.hongkiat.com - I always steer people to there after I've taught them on one of my Photoshop courses. In particular, you should make an effort to learn how to use the Pen tool in PS, since it is the best tool for making selections and can also be used to paint lines with if you create a path and then stroke it with a brush. The Clone Stamp and Spot Healing Brush tools are also worth getting good with, and all brushes - including the clone and erase brushes - are worth using on different opacity and flow settings in order to get subtle effects. Use the left and right square bracket keys to resize brushes on the fly, which speeds things up tremendously. If you are not using Photoshop, I would recommend giving Paint.net a try - www.paint.net - and noting that there is a hyperlink down lower on that page to some very good tutorials for it. Paint.net is almost as capable as Photoshop where repainting is concerned, and is of course free. Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

I use photoshop elements 10 which does not include a pen tool unfortunately. I do have both GIMP and Paint.net installed. I used to use Paint.net for photo editing but finally bit the bullet and got PSE. I have never used GIMP.
