May 17, 201214 yr Is there any possibility that ATC gives you more realistic taxi instructions, i.e. just something like "***, turn right on X, hold short of Z", and the next instruction just after reaching the hold short point specified before? Following taxi instructions of default ATC at larger airports is simply impossible without the taxi guideance arrows, because it's way too difficult to memorize even a bit of what you're told. And a second question: Is it possible to make ATC say "Link" instead of "Lima India November Kilo"? I guess that one can be done with EditVoicePack, am I right? Thanks Flo Florian

As a pilot, in the US at least, you can request progressive taxi from the ground controller and he/she must abide by that. Instead of just saying "Taxi via November Bravo Kilo", they would say "Taxi north on November, turn right next taxiway, taxi east on Bravo, etc." As far as more realistic? If you go to a large airport, you better know what you are doing because most times controllers will not have time for someone who does not know where they are going. Before you start your flight, grab a pad of paper and a pen. Write stuff down! Write clearances, taxi instructions, altitudes, everything! I always hate to ask ATC to repeat what they were saying because I thought I could memorize what they were saying. For your second question, in the US, No. Hope this helps coming from a current pilot and air traffic controller! Jared Listinsky
May 24, 201214 yr If you have Navigraph nDAC3 installed http://www.navigraph.com/www/default.asp you can go to the airport section download all the charts you need for any given airport worldwide. Once downloaded most airport will have a ground function which gives the primary taxi routes to runways. I write my taxiway routes before taxi and just follow the signs on the taxiway. Works pretty good and you don't have to ask the ground controller for constant instructions. To give you an example, I just flew my LDS767 today from Seattle to Detroit. Here is how my taxi instructions went: runway 22R-TAXIWAY A-A5-Y4-K4-UP PARK AT GATE A68 Hope this helps Bob
