MakeRwys Question

Hi

I'm successfully running Radar Contact 4.3.3845 on a client computer with no problems.

Due to a reinstall of FSX and 3rd party scenery I had to run Makerwys.exe v4.6 again within the FSX folder as instructed, then activated 'Rebuild Scenery DB' in RC. It found the correct files and built the database.

I notice in the Makerwys readme it says T5.csv contains all the taxi paths and is used by later versions of Radar Contact - does this include 4.3.3845, as my FO when we exit a runway never gives the correct runway exit taxiway designation. The same applies with the parking gate, he only gets it right if I enter the correct gate number in the 'Controller Info' page.

RC4 only uses the r5.csv file which it converts to r4.csv, then builds a4.csv from that.

None of the other .csvs are used for version 4. Version 5 in its current development stage uses the other .csvs for gate assignments and directions or heading to it. Departure ground does issue a visual taxi path instruction in the status window.

Other add-ons can use makerwys data to offer this facility.

I don't use the FO and was not aware of the taxi exit designator being announced. RC ground just says take the next taxiway (left or right maybe) on landing and announces the parking designator you entered preflight.

Even Beta testers can learn something

He gives an exit taxiway when he calls ground, don't know where he gets it from as its never correct.

Good news on V5, should make things a lot more interesting.
