PMDG NGX working fine even with IVAO and Vatsim on 3 screens with acceptable framerates. Today I tried to change the WideScreen panel to the VC high panel. I found out that the TCAS got stuck (red descend and climb lines on the PFD) on the ground and in flight. Testing TCAS gave no results. Everything else worked fine. FPS seemed higher than with the WideScreen panel.

 

Found no “logics” section in the VC panel and no TCAS. Is there anyone out there with a VC panel and a working TCAS?

Not. Uninstalling and installing the 700 and 800 series. I think about it.

VC High is the default (and has nothing to do with WideScreen) - what exactly are you trying to do?

Always a good question, Wide Screen panel is my default when i install PMDG. What i did was change the panel.cfg (reads Wide Screen) in the NGX800 panelfolder (where all the panels reside) to VC high.panel by renaming the latter to panel.cfg. This gives the stuck TCAS.

 

Following Nicks advise i uninstalled PMDG and reinstalled PMDG. Updated with SP1 (panel v,3057), 1b (3118) and 1c (panelversion 3219). Renamed the panel.cfg and still got the red TCAS guidelines on the PFD which stay on whatever i do.

Not a big deal, i can fly with the default panel, but i want to understand this issue and liked the seemingly lower framerate of the VC High panel. This panel could also be a candidate for use with the TrackIR,

Don't go messing with the panel configs (which is most likely your problem)- just add the WideViewAspect=true to your FSX.cfg. It goes under the display section.

Hi,

I'm not the 'messing around' type of guy Nick :Shocked: . I at least have a plan when i do something (or think i have a plan). Renaming panels is normal stuff for FSX planes, but not for the PMDG. After a night sleep it came to me.. that there is only one panel. Probably the VC high en VC low panels are used by the performance exe. My guess so far.

So, if am right the golden rule is again: if it's not broken don't fix it.
