REX 2.0 won't install water colors

Featured Replies

Hi captains,

Excuse me if I'm posting in the wrong forum, but I've been having a strange problem with REX and FSX since a day or so.

For some reason, I found my water colors to bright for my taste. To I changed them in REX 2.0 Overdrive, made them darker, actually, very dark. But in FSX it won't change. It's still pretty bright.

So this is what I tried:

- Different water colors and wave animations

- Checked if folders were set correctly, and yes they were.

- Deleted the REX folders from Appdata/Local to reset default settings

- Reinstalled REX RTM, and then REX Overdrive. Did it by deleting via Add/Remove programmes, then deleting the folders from AppData/Local, then reinstalling.

- Tried default FSX.cfg

This all didn't work. All REX textures install perfectly fine, except for the water colors. Can anybody please help me?

I also have GEX and UTX installed. I also have the freeware ENV textures installed, I unfortunately forgot to backup the original ones (silly me). Could this cause the problem?

Here is quick screenshot from Firday Harbor, this is what the water looks like all over the FSX world:

This is how the REX theme is setup, take note of the dark water which is set, but won't install into FSX:

Ï tried overcast with maximum cloud coverage density and it's exactly the same thing. It's too bright, even though the water in REX is set to really dark. Something else must be wrong here, but I've no idea what.

Cuz in the past I've been running pretty dark water too, and it all worked fine...
