If AS2012 is in DWC mode, try changing it to Standard under Wx Options > Depiction Mode.

 

Be VERY careful when using DWC. It may cause the aircraft to have problems with the autopilot.

My experience is the opposite of yours. Giving AS2012 DWC (Direct weather control) has given me the smoothest, most accurate weather depiction I have ever had in FSX. It is something I would very highly recommend for all users of ASE or AS2012. I do not use FSUIPC wind smoothing because I have not found a need for it.
